It was a strange day, back on Memorial Day Weekend of 2013, no not a cryptid, not really a Fortean item, but a very unusual thing was sighted meandering across the Prairie of Eastern Montana.
On Friday 24 May 2013 a Black Bear was sighted in the Brockway Cemetery and was followed to a nearby ranch. Thanks to the good Samaritans and area landowners Paul and Chase Gebhardt helped FWP Region 6 Warden Todd Tryan of Glasgow kept the bear confined to a woodpile until FWP Warden Shawn Briggs of Lewistown arrived. Warden Briggs darted the bear and released it into the Little Belt Mountains of central Montana.
Here is some links to three articles about the wayward bear, and I imagine the first witnessed bear on this part of the Prairie since the late 1880's.
