The Creature of McCone County

Welp, here it is, my first "real" post to my blog!

I was doing some Internet sleuthing and I came across a hit on the ol' search engine (duckduckgo.com BTW, and thank you for the information!) about a creature that ended up being called "The Creature of McCone County" from NewWest.net.

I'm not going to copy and paste all the articles to this blog, but as of Sunday, 11/8/2015, all the links worked this morning, Mountain Time.

This all started back in late 2005 when Ranchers in Eastern Montana started finding livestock fatally injured or killed in savage attacks. Loren Coleman had a Cryptomundo.com post shortly after this story broke. http://cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/mccone-shunka/

Lance Foster had an awesome blog entry back in 2009 about this incident, possibly tying it into the Native American "Shunka Warak"in" in this blog post http://paranormalmontana.blogspot.com/2009/03/shunka-warakin.html

The largest regional newspaper even ran a couple of articles on this "wolf"...
http://billingsgazette.com/news/state-and-regional/montana/officials-don-t-know-if-predator-was-wolf-or-where/article_77261ea2-fb6f-5e9a-ab9d-a3e839e95d2e.html. It appears that it was a hybrid according to this article, http://billingsgazette.com/sports/recreation/gazoutdoors/the-garfield-mccone-wolf/article_ce93c6f1-7e9c-5508-9b9b-521111508ea7.html

I submitted a FOIA request

to see if I could get a copy of the report, and I'm going to try to conduct some further research in the local papers.

Cheers,

MonDak Fortean
