Strange Lights over Glendive

This was reported to me by a close friend and former Law Enforcement Officer / Military Veteran. He and one of his sons was out and about in Glendive, Montana on the night of 25 February 2017.  Here is the transcript of his report submitted to the MonDak Fortean Research.

Tonight around 2100hrs my son and I were near the fairgrounds in Glendive. He spotted a single orange light that appeared to travel from north to south while veering to the west. Within minutes we spotted the 3 lights in the video. The light that dances around is glare from the streetlight. They also appeared to travel north to south before disappearing. The final one (we saw 5 total) lasted about 30 seconds. It also travelled north to south, then veered sharply west before disappearing. My initial reaction to the first one was it was a helicopter or drone. Then I thought maybe it was a chinese lantern. After seeing the 3 together and the final one, I'm not sure what they were.

He had the presence of mind to whip out his trusty cell phone and take short video clip. Please note, the one light that is dancing around is a known anomaly. It is a reflection of the overhead lights that this camera caught. Below is the video the witness took.

Below is a screenshot supplied by the witness. The three orange/red arrows are in the approximate locations of the strange orange balls of light and the blue arrow points to the verified anomaly. 

Afterwards the witness conducted his own investigation to see if anyone admitted to setting off Chinese Lanterns to the North or Northeast of Glendive, which did not turn up anything to indicate this happened. I’m not ruling this out, but it from the description above, I find it highly unlikely. I have encouraged him to report it to NUFORC and by the time that this posts, it should be showing up.

Just 9 days earlier someone approximately 220 miles on the western edge of the MonDak saw some lights that behaved in the exact same manner and duration. This is the link to my previous post and here is the link to the NUFORC entry into the database.
